When the surf goes flat, there is still a place where you can catch a wave at the Cornwall Flowrider. The Flowrider is an artificial standing wave created by pumping a thin sheet of water, no more than three inches deep, up a steep, curved bank. The sensation is similar to surfing, wakeboarding, snowboarding and skateboarding.
Flowriding is a great way of improving surf technique or board skills and having some fun when there is little or no surf on the coast. The Flowrider has captured the imagination of board riders in Cornwall and beyond, with many of county’s best professional surfers checking out the flowrider machine. Ben Skinner, Adam Griffiths and Lee Bartlett are all regular flowriders.
