If you want to learn to surf, you can’t get a better location than Watergate Bay. A two mile wide beach break with room for everyone, Watergate also has an awesome surf school, the Extreme Academy.
Our BSA approved school is staffed by instructors who live to surf, and they’ll make it their mission to get you up on your and feet riding your first amazing wave. We don’t cut corners when it comes to safety or how much fun you’re having - we’re all about small groups and plenty of individual attention for each student – that’s how we make sure everyone gets a great surf experience that fits their ability and maximises their potential. You’ll have a great time and you’ll make real progress.
Choose the lesson that suits your needs best, from a half-day with a group to a one-to-one lesson if you want to really push your skill level. We provide everything you need to get in the water and start learning, including boards and wetsuits, plus boots and gloves in the winter – yep, we teach all year round.
The Extreme Academy’s home is a brand new, purpose built school with changingrooms, hot showers and space for safety briefings.
