Sustainable transport charity Sustrans (www.sustrans.org.uk) is encouraging people in Cornwall to “Change your World” by pledging to switch one car journey to a cycle, walk, bus or train ride, during the first week of July. “If everyone made one less car journey each week it would reduce traffic by 10%,” says Sustrans.

The charity, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, hopes people across the UK will join the campaign. Celebrities such as TV impressionist Alistair McGowan, style guru Wayne Hemingway, and Channel 4’s Jon Snow have already pledged to switch off their engines and change their world this summer.
