| Cornish gig rowing voyage makes history |
 The challenge was not made any easier by the 30-mile overland push from the upper reaches of the River Tamar to the Bude canal on the north coast. The combined weight of the gig and trailer was over half a tonne. The team was led by St Austell Brewery’s head brewer Roger Ryman. He said: “I know it sounds extreme but with my 40th birthday around the corner I felt the need to take on some sort of challenge.” Bookmark this item              |
