Four RNLI lifeguards have received awards for saving a trapped surfer at Perranporth. Four RNLI lifeguards, Sophie Grant-Crookston, Robin Howell, Kris O’Neill and David Green received the Surf Life Saving of Great Britain (SLS GB) 2006 Rescue of the Year award for saving a surfer trapped in a cave at Perranporth. The prestigious award honoured the Cornish lifeguards for the heroic rescue in heavy swell last autumn.
