The weather took no prisoners, with many of the top seeds going out early on. Alan Stokes, Matt Capel and Johnny Fryer all went out and British champion Sam Lamiroy snapped his board.

Cornish riders rose to the top in some of the other divisions moved to Tolcarne for cleaner waves. Sennen Cove’s Sam Bleakley won the longboard competition and Newquay local Harry Timson won the Groms division as well as third place in the under 14s. Not bad for an eleven year old. Meanwhile, Sophie Skinner won the women’s longboard event.
