Keen Coronado Sneakers
Keen's latest sneaker was eagerly anticipated in its arrival and it didn't disappoint. The Coronado is one of the most amazingly, comfortable pair of trainers I've worn in a long time.
Cool and Comfortable
As a big fan of Keen's sandals, I wasn't sure how the trainers would shape up. Since putting them on, they have only left my feet for bedtime. I've had Converse and Art trainers and none of them match up to the lightweight comfort of this trainer. They are also surprisingly warm. The suede seemed thin when I put them on for the first time, but it actually keeps the heat in and your toes stay toasty, especially over the last few cold snaps. And I mean toasty, not sweaty! Even out in a brief rain storm, my feet stayed dry. There is great arch support, which is vital and what makes it so easy to keep these chaps on all day. The guys at Keen have carefully made these trainers to anatomically correct proportions. As sad as this sounds, I can't get enough of them.
The pair I have are a dark brown or 'Shitake' as Keen called them, with a cool blue nose over the usual scuff areas over the toes. But Keen have done them in a variety of colours from Port (pictured above) to Rust.
Ideal for a British winter, they are unlike any sneakers I've seen before and definitely get the thumbs up from me. Adventure Activites Cornwall gives these 11/10.
Eco-trainers
Any serious sneaker in 2010 means that it needs to have some sort of eco-credentials. The Coronado comes with bags of it. The eyelets are made from recycled drinks cans, the footbed from recycled PU and cork with a natural canvas cover. And finally the vulcanised natural rubber outsole keeps your environmental footprint to a minimum as you step out on city streets or urban landscapes
