Ellen MacArthur Returns to Falmouth
Dame Ellen MacArthur has agreed to give a lecture at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall for one night only on Monday 31 August. The talk is part of a round Britain tour raising funds for the Ellen MacArthur Trust and this will be the first time Ellen has spoken publicly about her life since her world record-breaking circumnavigation of the world ended in Falmouth in 2005.
Ellen will be recounting stories about her amazing and varied experiences at sea, as well as talking about her work with the Ellen MacArthur Trust and her plans for the future.
Ellen MacArthur says: “I’m really excited about coming back to Falmouth, which holds so many great memories for me. I received an unbelievable welcome there when I completed my round-the-world voyage in 2005 and this will be my first return visit since that incredible day. The National Maritime Museum Cornwall gave us a lot of support then, and we’re really grateful that they are doing the same again, this time in aid of our The Ellen MacArthur Trust and our Round Britain voyage. I can’t wait to be back.”
Knowing the incredible passion and reception Ellen was met with when she broke the record and sailed alongside the Museum back on the 7 February 2005 we fully expect this lecture to sell-out very quickly.
Ticket prices are £12 for adults and £8 for children with the added option of a buffet at £20 for adults and £16 for children. Please call 01326 214546 to buy your tickets. The ticketing office is open from 10am to 5pm. All the money raised from these talks will benefit the Ellen MacArthur Trust.
