Cornish adventurers tackle the Scots
A hardcore bunch of Cornish adventurers took on the country’s best adventure racers at the Drambuie Pursuit in Scotland this summer. Super-fit Stephen Issacs, Jonathan Harvey and Mike Cooke from St Ives joined an Arena magazine journalist for a series of extreme challenges in the Highlands.
After running up and down a mountain, climbing, abseiling, archery, mountain biking, white-water rafting and rage buggy racing the team was in first place going into the final challenge. But disaster struck in the kayak race when their boat snagged on a rock and the team finished last. Stephen joked: “We were winning until the last event; then some fat London journo lost it for us.” Better luck next time guys!
