Mud and Sweat Mountain biking in Devon
This is the event for all types of mountain bikers, On Sunday 31st January, Woodbury Common near Exmouth is hosting the second round of the innovative Mud and Sweat mountain bike adventure series for the first time. The event combines off-road mountain biking with the skill of navigating and is open to everyone from beginners and families to experienced adventure racers.
Riders will aim to get the highest score possible by visiting as many of the checkpoints marked on their map as they can in the time allowed. This allows everyone to choose their own route and set a personal challenge rather than chasing other competitors around a set course.
Individuals, pairs and families can enter on the day from 10am, all that’s needed is a sense of fun and adventure, a working bike, a helmet, a compass and money for entry fees and some well earned refreshments. Prizes from the event’s main sponsors Bigpeaks Adventure Superstore & Cotswold Outdoor will be awarded to category winners after the event.
Based in South Devon, the Mud and Sweat team have fifteen years experience of running adventure events throughout the UK. From a background of orienteering, adventure racing and a wide range of other extreme sports our experience culminates in events that challenge people at their level so there is something for everyone and the opportunity for entrants to just enjoy the great outdoors or to stretch themselves both physically and mentally.
Registration opens from 10am. Start times are available from 10.45am. Categories are 1.5 hour (family) and 2 or 3.5 hours (solo and pairs) and all courses close at 3.45pm. Prize Giving and results will be at 4.15pm or sooner if everyone has finished.
