Cable Tow Wakeboard Park Opens in Cornwall

Wake ParkCornwall 300Facilities for wakeboarding in Cornwall have traditionally been a bit thin on the ground with only a few options for learning and practising the sport. This changed in August when Retallack Resort and Spa opened a cable tow wakeboard school, albeit for a trial period only.

The resort has introduced Cornwall’s first ever system 2.0 wake cable at the brand new Retallack Wake Park situated on the main lake at the resort. Visitors to the resort will be able to hit the lake with all the gear provided, then be instructed by none other than Jules Haley an O’Neill wake board team rider and professional wake boarder.

Retallack Resort and Spa already offers the chance to ride the standing wave of its Flowrider and paddle kayaks on its lake. Now visitors can experience the thrill of wakeboarding too.

The opening of the Wake Park gives locals and visitors to Cornwall the chance to learn and practice this exciting board sport, and is an exciting addition to the options for surfing, kitesurfing and skateboarding in the local area. Let’s just hope they decide to re-open the Wake Park for more fun wakeboarding sessions next year.

The  Retallack Wake Park is open until the end the end of September.  All riders  will receive Instruction, wetsuit, helmet, buoyancy aid and board included in the price of the session. Visit www.retallackresort.co.uk/wake-park for details.
