Newquay Activity Centre celebrated winning a gold award at the Cornwall Tourism Awards in November.
The Newquay based activity provider took the highest prize in the Active and Sporting Experience category of the awards, which were held at the Headland Hotel in Newquay on Thursday, November 12.
Director Rob Barber and his team collected the award in front of a packed crowd including representatives from the top Cornish tourism businesses.
Mr Barber said: “It’s great to be recognised by Cornwall Tourism for all the continuous efforts, investment and hard work that our team put in all year round.
“Surfing, bodyboarding, Coasteering and all the watersporting activities, play a huge part towards the economy here and we are lucky to be living in such a great place.
“We welcome thousands of visitors to the centre each year and everyone really enjoys all that Cornwall has to offer.
“We have been the number one activity on Trip Advisor in the area for over two years now, so it is great to also be recognised by the tourism awards. We really believe that Newquay is a fantastic place to be for families and individuals all year round.”
Malcolm Bell, head of Visit Cornwall, said: “What an incredible achievement for so many deserving tourism businesses.
“To win a Cornwall Tourism Award takes dedication, hard work and a 360 degree commitment to excellence across the business.
“Each and every one of the winning businesses should be proud of their trophies and the vital part they play in Cornwall’s success as a leading visitor destination.”
