Tonkin’s Backyard Jam
The Track in Portreath held it’s biggest ever competition on it’s newly sculpted dirt biking track at the end of July.
Founder Steve Tonkin and his team came up with a new competition format so judges have a marking criteria to follow and competitors understand what will give them a good score.
The contest got underway with the Under 12s category, which was sponsored by PLAIN LAZY, on the bottom mini table section, and saw a lot of fresh faces compete in their first jam.
They then went straight into the longest skid, longest manuel and high jump comp, which all produced some great entertainment for the riders and spectators.
Luckily later in the afternoon the wind died down enough to hold the Under 16s and Open competitions.
