Dive in at the Greenbank Fal River Festival
The Greenbank Fal River Festival kicks off this weekend with ten days (May 27th to June 5th in 2011) of sporting and cultural events to celebrate life on the river Fal in Cornwall.
For adventurists the Fal River Festival represents a great opportunity to dive in and experience some great activities including a charity abseil with BF Adventure, an escorted kayak paddle on the Fal, a 10K countryside running race, gig racing and sailing action all in one place.
Festival goers also have the opportunity to enter the gruelling Castle to Castle one mile swim between Falmouth and St Mawes, in aid of the RNLI.
The festival was established in 2006 and will be running for its 6th year in 2011. It is a real chance to embrace the places, people, history, culture & industry that is connected by this very Cornish river. As well as sporting activities on and off the water, there will be live music events, gallery open days and fun events for families.
With its diverse mix of events taking place at dozens of locations around the river Fal, the festival offers something for everyone and is a real chance to engage with life on the river and discover some of its fascinating history.
