Explore the Outdoors
A new adventure sports and travel show called ‘Explore the Outdoors’ will be staged just across the Tamar in Plymouth this coming February.
The exhibition is being organised in partnership with 97FM Plymouth Sound and will be held at the Plymouth Pavilions on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 February.
With its proximity to Dartmoor, the Devon coast and Cornwall, Plymouth is one of the finest locations in England for getting into the outdoors. It is a great place to host the show, which will bring together outdoors enthusiasts from across the South West and offers visitor an opportunity to experience a range of activities on-site.
At ‘Explore the Outdoors’, exhibitors will showcase and launch new products, have face to face contact with visitors, meet and network with fellow exhibitors and enthusiasts, and encourage novices to try new activities. Split into four zones of Adrenaline Junkies, Explore, Watersports and Travel, ‘Explore the Outdoors’ will offer something for everyone.
The Adrenaline Zone features the highest indoor climbing wall in the UK and Europe with members from the Royal Navy urging novices and professionals alike to scale the 32 feet wall.
Duchy College will be encouraging visitors to participate in the ‘Explore the Outdoors Crate Stacking championship’ in the Explore Zone with teams competing for a prize awarded to the highest stack.
Jaguar’s X-type estate will be on show in the Explore Zone demonstrating that their vehicles are perfect for those trips with the bikes or kayaks on the roof, and Air South West will be sponsoring the Travel Zone with fantastic competition prizes on offer.
The specially designed beach shack will be serving smoothies and other refreshments to visitors weighed down with their clothing and equipment purchases and a bespoke surfboard will be up for grabs thanks to Coca Cola.
Exciting prize giveaways are online and at the event including free flights, mountain bikes, GPS devices, activity days, driving experiences and much, much more.
A diverse programme of inspirational speakers is sure to be a crowd-pleaser including sessions from the National Marine Aquarium (exhibiting in the Watersports Zone) plus workshops and talks on a huge range of topics covered by well-known outdoor experts and explorers.
Alvin Hargreaves, Director of Programming and Marketing, commented: “We are extremely excited about launching ‘Explore the Outdoors’. The Pavilions is the perfect venue for an event of this scale combining our first class production facilities and ideal city centre location. With our partners Air South West, the Royal Navy, Stratstone Jaguar, Duchy College, National Marine Aquarium and Coca Cola plus equipment and clothing to buy, a beach shack and much, much more, this event will provide all the inspiration you need to ‘Explore the Outdoors’.”
