Get Walking Day
The Ramblers is calling everyone in the South West to slip on their trainers, boots, and shoes and join them – no matter what age or ability – for a FREE walking festival to celebrate Get Walking Day 09 on On May 30th.
Get Walking Day 09 will see carnival-spirited short walks take place all over the South West, in cities and the countryside alike, to help people of all ages discover the joys of walking and to mark the event. Each walk will be under 5 miles, open to everyone, and will take place over the weekend (May 30th, June 1st) in England, Scotland and Wales. Many will include refreshments and special events to celebrate the day.

It doesn’t matter how old you are or how much you use your legs, there’s a walk for everyone to enjoy this Get Walking Day.”

Now in its second year, national Get Walking Day, aims to help people discover the joy of walking and promotes the huge mental, physical and mood-boosting benefits that walking can bring.
