Coast to Coast Quadrathlon

Swimmers in the QuadrathlonA hardy bunch of athletes swam, cycled, ran and paddled from Padstow to Fowey across Cornwall in the Coast to Coast Quadrathlon in early October.

The gruelling race involved an 800 metre swim up the River Camel, followed by a cycle to Lanhydrock, a run from there to Lerryn, finishing with a kayak to Falmouth on the Fal Estuary.

Competitors enjoyed great weather for the Cornish crossing, with many raising funds for the Children’s Hospice South West Precious Lives Appeal.

Event organiser Simon Jeffery said: “The event is a great way to enjoy the Cornish countryside. It’s great to be able to participate in an event like this while raising money for charity.”

Last year the event raised over £1,000 for the appeal. The organisers hope to raise a similar amount this year.
