The Granite Planet Climbing Centre Opens
A new climbing centre in Cornwall has opened, the first stage of the Granite Planet indoor facility is completed. The Centre offers experienced and novice climbers the chance to try their hand at 24 climbing positions and 72 routes as well as having a bouldering room.
The Granite Planets second stage of development will offer additional climbing walls featuring an overhang as well as a café and viewing gallery. There will also be exceptional climbs around a Cornish engine house which will create an additional 70 climbs which have 200 different routes. Stage 2 is due to be completed in January 2010 at which stage the facilities will be able to cater for corporate training events, team building activities and green travel incentives will also be offered.
The new centre is offers taster sessions, induction courses and expert instruction, it also offers equipment hire. The centre is open Monday to Saturday.
The Granite Planet is based in Penryn, at Parkengue on the Kernick Industrial Estate, parking is free and there is a seating area and refreshments available on site. Birthday parties are also catered for at the granite planet for ages 10 +.
